Welcome to Purple Mountain Natural Foods
Purple Mountain Natural Foods is a beautiful, 4,500 square foot, natural food store. We have been in downtown Rome for over 6 years.

From vitamin, herbs and homeopathic medicines to body care items, healthy pet foods, bags of rolled oats, beans or rice, spices by the scoop for cooking and healing, we try to stock or special order what you need. Groceries – packaged, refrigerated, frozen or dry are stocked.

Many foods are organically grown, some are locally sourced, none have artificial colorings, flavorings or preservatives. We do not sell artificial sweeteners, except for a little high fructose corn syrup, which we are phasing out.

We specialize in gluten free foods.

We sell a lot of stevia, agave and local honey - healthy sweeteners

Our supplements come from NOW Foods, Nature’s Plus, Nature’s Way, Solaray and Frontier Co-op Herbs, as well as many other brands found in quality natural food stores.  We have vitamin & body care sections for young people, down to diapers and baby food.

We offer a 10% discount if you special order a full case or bag of a food item.

Additionally, purchases from $100 to $200 and up get discounts from 10-20%. So, cases or bags of grain in a purchase of $200 are at a 30% discount from retail. Get together or just stock up and save.

Cradle cap
Cradle cap is a skin condition that affects babies. It consists of large, oily, yellow flakes on their scalps. Cradle cap usually disappears within a few months but it may stem from a deficiency of the B vitamin biotin in mom. Nursing moms should eat foods rich in biotin, such as brown rice, cauliflower, mushrooms, and egg yolk to combat cradle cap.
